Landscaping for Medway Homeowners
Medway sits on the Charles River at the western edge of Norfolk County, a mix of older village housing and newer subdivision development.
It is one of the further towns we serve, so we group work here into set days rather than scattering single visits.

River town on the 495 side
The Charles forms the northern boundary and the low ground along it holds water. Properties in that corridor often need grading before anything else is worth doing, and wetlands buffer review applies to a meaningful share of them.
Medway has grown substantially, and the newer subdivisions carry the standard new-construction lawn problem: a thin skin of loam over compacted subgrade that performs for two springs and then struggles every August. Aeration and compost topdressing over the first several seasons is the fix, and starting early makes a large difference.
The older village housing near the centre has settled grading and foundation plantings well past their intended size. Regrading to restore fall away from the house and replanting at proper scale are the two recurring projects.
Soil away from the river is a mix of decent loam and thinner sandy ground, and it is acidic like the rest of the region. Lime based on a soil test does more than another fertilizer application.
Distance means Medway work is scheduled in blocks. Maintenance clients get a fixed weekly day, and project crews stay on site until the job is finished rather than splitting time across towns.
Medway's growth has added a lot of newer housing on former woodland, and those lots often keep mature trees right at the property line that were never meant to stand alone. Trees left exposed after clearing are more vulnerable to wind and to the change in light, and they need watching for the first several years.

Read our Google reviews“We cannot recommend Cris and his team enough! Timely response, came out to give us a free estimate, and got to work (as soon as the weather permitted!) We have had a difficult time attempting our yard clean up each Spring and knew it was time to hire a professional team. Extremely satisfied with our beautifully manicured yard and the kids are excited to get back out there and play! Thanks again Cris!!”

Landscaping in Medway: Questions
Specific to properties in Medway and the surrounding area.
No — we group work here into set days rather than scattering single visits, which keeps both scheduling and pricing sensible. Maintenance clients get a fixed weekly day and project crews stay on site until the job is done.
Almost certainly thin loam over compacted construction fill. New lawns coast for a couple of seasons on the starter soil and installation fertilizer, then hit a summer where shallow roots cannot find water. Aeration with compost topdressing over several seasons is the real fix.
If water is standing anywhere or the grade falls toward the house, yes — always. Seeding a low spot just grows grass in a puddle. Grading is far easier before there is turf on it than after.
Yes. Trees that grew inside a closed woodland and are suddenly exposed lose the shelter of their neighbours, and they are more prone to wind damage and to stress from the change in light. Keep an eye out for dieback, and keep the root zone mulched rather than mown to the trunk.
