Landscaping in Dover, MA

Dover is one of the least densely developed towns in eastern Massachusetts — large lots, horse property, conservation land, and the Charles River along the northern edge.

Properties here are big enough that the real question is usually how much landscape to maintain, not how to fill it.

On acreage, the smartest decision is often to reduce maintained lawn rather than expand it. Converting outlying areas to meadow, naturalised native planting, or managed woodland edge cuts weekly maintenance sharply, costs less over time, and generally looks better than mowing to a property line.
