Milton sits against the Blue Hills Reservation, and that proximity shapes the whole town — wooded slopes, ledge close to the surface in places, and some of the most established residential landscapes in Norfolk County.

Properties here tend to be mature, well-planted, and worth maintaining rather than replacing. A good share of our Milton work is preserving what is already there.

The land rises toward Great Blue Hill on the southern side of town, and with elevation comes ledge. On the higher lots we probe before designing, because planting depth and drainage trenching both depend on where the rock actually is. Raised beds and plantings sited to available root room are the practical answers.
